I created a layer from the hosted feature layer and edited it, but now I cannot download the data to a shapefile. How do I change the feature layer, to a hosted feature layer?

I've searched the help, GeoNet, Youtube, and GIS Stack Exchange. Is it just not possible to change a feature layer to a hosted feature layer? Please advise.

The only solution I have found is to republish and using the option to copy the data.

Hi,

You can publish a feature collection (a source type for feature layers) to a hosted feature layer. If the layer a hosted feature layer owned by another or an ArcGIS Server layers then you will not be able to publish the layer unless you export the data and upload it for publishing.

Is this possible to do from python as well?  My class uses arcpy to do its work (selections etc) and I would like to have them push their work to ESRI to make a webmap (without opening arcpro manually). Any ideas?
