Hosted feature layer lost all layers after updating

I updated a hosted feature layer to update a Web App and it lost all layers. I opened the Feature layer on ArcGIS Pro, removed old layer and added a new updated layer. I shared the layer by overwriting the existing Feature layer (Share as Web Layer). I found that all the layers in the feature layer were removed and only the one I added was loaded.

I tried to restore the layers to the Hosted Feature layer but when I tried to publish on ArcGIS Pro I got an error "Layer's source not supported" and "there is no layer required to publish Web layer".

Please help me understand if what I did is the correct way of updating layers for a Web App.

Thank you

Did you try to re-add the 'updated' HFS to the map to see if the other layers are still there?

AGOL doesn't seem to update 'layers' in a map if there were any schema ( and other not yet identified ) changes to the HFS unless removed from the map and re-added.

I did try but the other layers were not there. When I check the web map, the disappeared layers were there but they had yellow exclamation saying unable to Add layers.

I tried to Add on ArcGIS Pro but was unable to publish because of errors.
