Hi all,

Is it possible to hide fields in a joined hosted feature layer view?

I have joined two layers to produce a view but need to hide confidential fields from users. At the moment all fields are carried through from the two joined datasets. Searching online I can find various approaches to hide fields but none seem to work on a joined view. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot.

Yes, it should be possible. In the view layer's settings, it should have an Update View link, just like a regular view layer, and you can turn fields on and off.

Unfortunately 'update view' doesn't appear as an option in a joined view layer.

Sorry about that, I must have been confusing my hosted join for something else… Shame this isn't an option, though.

Hi @RayKidd,

Unfortunately views created via a join don't yet support view definitions (filters, field definitions, and areas of interest). This functionality is on the development list for hosted feature layer views.

I would like to echo the desire for a feature to filter joined view layers.

I would also really like this feature. Do you know when it might be implemented?
