Getting "missing prj file" when uploading a .zip of a .shp; .prj; .dbf; .shx set.

Strange since my prj is included in the zip. What do I need to do so AGOL "sees" the prj in the .zip.

Are you able to open the shapefile in ArcMap without any issues ? You can try to re-zip the shapefile again and see if that will fix your issue.
