Field Maps attachment update causing "unsupported data" error when taking maps offline

After a recent update to how attachments are handled in ArcGIS Field Maps, I have been experiencing issues with attachments on mobile devices.

Previously, my form contained attachment options that worked correctly. After updating the form, the attachment controls disappeared from the mobile app. I was able to restore attachment functionality by adding the new "General" attachment option in the form.

However, this appears to have introduced a new issue. While the form works correctly when used online, when taking it offline every feature gives the message:

"The form contains unsupported data."

Has anyone else experienced this since the recent attachment changes in Field Maps? Is there a known issue or additional configuration required to make the new attachment system compatible with offline maps?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Fixed by going into fieldmaps designer, offline settings and updating the map content to ensure content within the map can be taken offline.

Can you elaborate on what you exactly fixed in Field Maps Designer? I ran into the same issue with no longer seeing the ability to add photos, adding the general Media photo widget, and no longer being able to edit the data in an offline map. Every layer was sync enabled. The only way I got it to work was to remove custom Forms to restore it to default. I then edited my popup settings to ensure the fields I wanted shown were there. Basically, I no longer have custom form editing capabilities. Just checking here before I make a new post about it!

Hello!

You should be able to resolve this issue by enabling "Include additional information about attachments" in the Features and attachments section under the Offline tab in Field Maps Web Designer. Afterward, ensure that the content is refreshed via the Content section or through the warning that appears.

Hello @ajones , I am encountering the same issue when trying to add a Media attachment to a form. It is giving me zero errors in the field maps designer and allows me to edit within the Map Viewer and Edit widget in experience builder, but when I try to create a new feature in the Field Maps app it shows the layer as "The form contains unsupported data". The feature layer is brand new, created in AGOL and it only contains 4 text fields. Attachments are enabled. I have your suggestion enabled as well. If I remove the attachment field from the form, it all works perfectly. But I was excited to use this new feature to encourage field photos. Do you know what else I should try?

Hi @ajones , while this is a good solution for single Maps, we have 100+ Projects configured for Fieldmaps. Is there any way I can do this over the Python API?

Thanks!
