Good afternoon,

The export function for hosted feature layers is not working, it stays stuck in this window. If I cancel, it creates an empty shapefile. I've let it sit for minutes with no luck.

Hi David! The problem comes and go as fjramos said. It is very weird, like if the jobs (I am assuming are cloud function in AWS) sink their performance badly. If you let the time pass by, you end up with the export being successful in a high amount of time.

In this example, a fresh layer with only 2 features:

19 minutes to complete the job.

The problem is reproducing again with more cadence.

14.5 minutes to end failing. Friday's evening the same action lasted 30seconds to complete.

That is interesting, there could be a lot of potential causes for this @Automatica @JuanMiguelMedinaRodriguez

My first thought from the most recent comments are if there is an issue with ArcGIS Online or with the specific subscriptions being used. We do occasionally get reports of slow downs and in most cases the issues are specific to the datasets being exported, or performance inefficencies against the subscription. Rarely it can be a problem with ArcGIS Online as a whole.

Could you take a look at the exact time and day we last experienced a slow down? This can then be compared with the datastore metrics for your subscription (Guide for accessing this here).

If we are seeing usage of the datastore is high during these performance hits then it would highlight that the datastore for your subscriptions are under too much load and is throttling as a result. If this is the case then please let me know and I can send some documents on optimising layers and workflows.

If not then the cause will be more tricky to identify. In this even it would be worth raising a Support Case with your Distributor to help troubleshoot in detail. Occasionally, things on the back end can have an impact on this such as stuck sync jobs.

Thanks for the feedback, the problem is not anymore by now.
