I've seen these map examples with Elevation Profiles.

http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=a865df88e5744ee5a0daa76d2ca4385b

http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=b9d247c297f144459854751740f59f68

Does anyone know how this was done or have an idea of how I could achieve this for my organization?

Thanks in advance

The easiest way to build an elevation profile map for you organization would probably be to use this application template.  http://www.arcgis.com/apps/Elevations/index.html

To publish your own app, sign in to arcgis.com, open the web map you would like to publish in the map viewer, then Share > Make Web Application > Elevation Profile > Publish

The online Elevation Profile is fine, but there is not the ability to print or have a legend.

I keep getting this error "fault Code:Client.URL Required fault String;'A URL must be specified with use Proxy set to false" when trying to run the Elevation widget.  Anyone know why?

Hi Tony,

It looks like the Elevation Profiles were generated, and captures as screenshots. The Author embeded the elevation profile screenshots as images in the pop-up.

You can generate elevation profiles in Desktop, or try the retired Elevation Profile template.

Hope that helps,
Andrew
