Editing not working in instant app

I added a couple of editable feature layers to my map to be fed into my sidebar instant app. The first feature you click on seems fine -- the attributes pop up in the side bar, you can edit them and save them and that seems fine. But when you select another feature to edit, you just get a spinning icon. This happens whether or not you edit the first feature, but even if you just click from one feature to the next. It happens in other apps as well with different feature layers, so it doesn't seem to be a glitch exclusive to the data or app. Once you refresh the page, you can select and edit a new feature.

@Anilanil this is due to the new detail layout we added at this release. We'll work on a fix for this issue but in the meantime if you re-configure your app and enable the "Classic Panel" option in the Sidebar section editing should work again.

Are you using Enterprise or Online? If Enterprise which version? If Online is your app public and if so can you share the link?

Hello,

I was searching on this very issue today and had Instant App give me the message "Web map does not contain any editable layers" for a map that users connect to and edit already through ArcGIS Field Maps.

ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4, Instant App Template(s) EDIT Reporter and Sidebar

What was strange is that I picked another map, saved the app, then reselected the original map I wanted for the app and the error went away.  (Only the Lord knows why that worked!)

This may not resolve your issue but it may help someone to troubleshoot.

Let us know if this helps.

I'm having this same issue (Instant App Reporter template in AGOL) - getting the error "Web map does not contain any editable layers", even though I've triple-checked and it DEFINITELY does. The workaround of choosing a different map and then reselecting the original map isn't working for me.

Hi @HannahWilson3 I can't repro the behavior. Could you share the layer or webmap to test? Thanks

Web map ID: 712d8366d26d42cd93e4b6df89bf36cd

(I also created a separate post: Reporter Instant App: "Web map does not contain an... - Esri Community)

Someone recommended enabling update/delete capabilities in addition to just "add" - this fixed the error, but we don't want users to be able to update or delete features! Is this the intended functionality?

Switching out the map and then switching it back worked for me as well.

Could you check to verify you have add and update capabilities enabled?
