I created a map using ArcGIS Online with one shapefile and the ESRI Streets Basemap.
Is it possible to allow the user to edit a Feature Class or Shapefile while using ArcGIS Online? (not from their desktop or collector, but directly inside the map viewer of ArcGIS Online)
If yes, how do I go about it. I cannot seem to find any feature editing options when I created my map usionArcGIS Online.
Ok, I figured out how to edit a layer in ArcGIS Online. Pretty easy stuff. My next question is this:
- I want to only change an attribute in the layer, when I edit a layer the "Add Features" Window opens on the left side. I do not want the user to add any features, just change an attribute in the attribute table of an existing feature. Is there way to not show the "Add Features" Window? when the user changes an attribute I only want them to see the attribute window pop up and not the "Add Features" window, is this possible?
Hi Tim,
To edit the attributes of a layer, ensure that you have either Add, update, and delete features or update feature attributes only set as the editing level on the item details page.
To edit only the attributes, open the feature service in the map viewer and click the feature that you would like to update. There will be an edit option available in the pop up. Click on Edit and then update the attributes as necessary.
