i have a popup window in an app that has the url for an image on an amazon server. I tried to change the images for 2025 to 2026 and updated all the images with new files.

The image in the popup is used to open a pdf with more information. That always points to the correct pdf for 2026.

When the popup is displayed, some of the images are updated to the  2026 version and others aren't

would arcgis online cache the images anywhere.  I've tried multiple browsers, and cleared all the cache and no luck. Even phones are doing this too.

This is caching, but not in ArcGIS Online.

ArcGIS Online doesn’t cache external images. What you’re seeing is Amazon S3 / CloudFront CDN caching. Since the image URLs didn’t change, some edge locations are still serving the older (2025) images, while others have refreshed to 2026. Clearing browser cache won’t help.

You can change the image URL (e.g., add? v=2026) or invalidate the image in CloudFront.

This is CDN behavior, not an ArcGIS bug.

I hope this helps and let me know.

Venkat

Thanks!

I was pretty sure that it wasn't AGOL but also have no knowledge of Amazon other than cloudberry as an FTP. The person that manages that system is out for the holidays. I would've bugged him but wanted to leave him alone on vacation.
