Datasets with different projected coordinate systems

Hi, I am working on two datasets with different projected coordinate systems - one is from open topography LiDAR and the other is from USGS.

I wanted to line up the two lines (red and green), so I tried projecting the red one to green (or green to red) but it did not seem to work. I am not sure if it's just a limitation of having datasets with different coordinate systems or if it's something that I can adjust/fix to make them aligned by changing the coordinate system.

Here's the info about the projection:

Red (SC05_5_thalweg)

Projected: NAD_1983_Lambert_Conformal_Conic

Unit: foot

Green (thalweg)

Projected: NAD 1983 Contiguous USA Albers

Unit: meter

Thank you in advance!

I looked into the dataset closely and found out the red line is actually representing the thalweg of the DEM very well even though their projections are different. Problem solved!
