CSS Works in the Web Map, but not in the Web App

Hello, this is my first time posting a question, so please let me know if this is not the right board.

I have a viewer that displays chemical readings in a pie chart for symbols. My customer wants to use a colored dot that matches a certain type of chemical in the pop up. I've gotten it to work in the web map with CSS:

However, when I save the web map, then come back to it, or add it to a viewer, it removes the colored dots, and just shows the CSS:

Here's the CSS expression used:

<style>
.orange-circle{
width: 10px;
height: 10px;
border-radius: 50%;
background-color: #FF5500
}
</style>
<div class="orange-circle"></div>

I'm seeing some places that CSS does not work in ArcGIS Online, but it seems to work for a while. If anyone can confirm that it works in AGOL or not, that would be great. Additionally, any alternatives to CSS for the colored dots would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
