We are looking to publish a public site from ArcGIS portal using web appBuilder with secure ArcGIS server services.  We were told that this scenario would break the license agreement however I can't find any documentation to state that.  Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Dion,

> We are looking to publish a public site from ArcGIS portal using web appBuilder with secure ArcGIS server services

You can create a public app with Web AppBuilder (from either ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS) accessing secured web services from an ArcGIS Server site. Note that the web map will need to be shared with "public". Based on the information you've provided, this is not a violation of the software license agreement.

If you have additional details around this deployment scenario, you may want to discuss them with your local Esri account manager or Distributor to clarify.

Hope this helps,

Will this setup also work with an ArcGIS for Developers $20+ paid account or would we need to upgrade to an ArcGIS Online account for the public WebAppBuilder app with secured ArcGIS Server Services?

Hi Nicholas,

Apologies for the late reply, I was out on vacation the last couple of weeks.

The ArcGIS for Developers subscription plans are meant for development and testing purposes only, not for production use. Please discuss with your local Esri account manager/Distributor to see if what you want to do is valid or not.

Hope this helps,
