Chaning legend patch shape on web map

Hi there. I have a personal vendetta against the weird pointy polygon used in Web Map legends (and by extension used in products that pull from web maps). Is there any way I can change this to a custom shape, even a basic rectangle? The symbol style window makes it look like there should be multiple "Basic shapes" to choose from, but there isn't, and I can't find any place I could upload or make a different shape.
