Cannot enable M-value for Existing Hosted Services

With the Feb 2024 adding support in Field Maps Designer to enable m-values on new layers, we were looking to enable it for existing services. I looks like the toggle is grayed out and we are unable to edit either from the overview page or from using "Update Service Definition".
It was suggested to by someone that this was a known bug, but I cannot find any documentation on that, so is there a way to enable this for existing services?
