I am trying to give my users access to download features after filtering via ArcGIS online. I see references to this functionality here: Use hosted web layers—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS  but I don't seem to have the checkbox in my item's detail page. I think I meet the requirements. Any ideas what could be wrong?

My feature service is here: Layer: TravelTimeStudy.DBO.TTI_Cardinal_Details (ID: 0)

And my Map is here: http://arcg.is/1AIzk6X

Eric,

Did you host that data on your own Server and then you use it within ArcGIS Online? They will only be able to download a feature service if it is hosted within ArcGIS Online.

What if they go to this page: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=1d893de3f0d740b482bd74e9f28df081

Click on Open -> Open in ArcGIS for Desktop (which will download a file)

Double-click the file and within ArcGIS Desktop expand the TravelTimePM and then right-click the layer which will enable them to click on Data -> Export Data.

Hi Eric,

It looks like the feature service is an ArcGIS Server feature service, rather than an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service.  As Tim pointed out, this functionality won't be available with AGS services.

Not sure if this is helpful, but check out this tool.  It will allow you to download an AGOL or AGS feature service.

Interesting. I haven't seen that being hosted on AGOL is a requirement. I have this map http://arcg.is/1H3vlqp in which the data are hosted on ArcGIS Online. I don't see an option to filter or download. This could be due to the fact that the data were uploaded as shapefiles.

My client's requirements were to be able to do this without Arc desktop. I may look to see how many credits it would take to upload it to AGO, assuming that will add the functionality.
