Can't create local copy for editing

I need to do some basic field calculations on one of my hosted feature layers. I can pull the layer into ArcMap, but the option to "Create local copy for editing" is greyed out. I'm attempting to edit the layer group, and also the layer itself, both with no luck.

On the items details i have the following checked:
- Enable editing (add, update, delete)
- Export Data
- Sync
- Track Edits

Am I missing something? This is the first time I'm attempting to edit hosted feature layers from ArcMap locally, any help much appreciated.

What version of ArcMap are you running?
Can you share the URL to the service and let me try to edit it?
