Good day,

I used ArcGIS Online (both map viewer and explorer online) for an introductory lab in an introductory cartography course. The experience was good until students starting hitting "issues" with the technology. There were 2 problems, each of which were encountered by ~20% of students:
1. Point objects would not pull up their details dialog boxes, either in Edit or Display mode.
2. Maps would either "hang" saving or present a simple "can't save" error message.

Unless these issues are addressed, I won't be going down this road again!

Thanks.

We're looking at the popup problem and should have a fix out early next week. I've not seen or heard about a saving issue. Can you provide a set of steps that will reproduce the problem?

Thanks,

Mike

Been having the same problem with saving in ArcGis Explorer online and ArcGis online.  Will add data to map and click save, the program will chug for a couple of minutes then report back could not save map. Is their a limit on the size the map can be beside the 1000 feature limit per shape file loaded?

Yes there is a size limit. How much data are you adding to the map? How many shapefiles? And their size in MB? Are you using Internet Explorer? The maximum size of a web map is around 10mb. IE, however, can be problematic.

Thanks,

Mike
