arcGIS online dashboard not working

I am working on a dashboard. General info, I have a excel sheet of "observations" of beetles. It has genus, species, country of observation, and some other stuff. I have a dashboard with a map of countries and this excel sheet, which I calculated percent of genera within each county (i.e. within the US, 25% of genera is genus a, 15% is genus b, etc.)

Here's the problem, when I add the genus percent feature layer onto my dashboard as an element and configure it/the map so it should work as you click a country, a serial chart with the percentages for that country pops up. However, my serial chart isn't changing as I click different countries, it just stays as the overall percentages.

There isn't an error message to include, the issue is just that when I click a county, the serial chart does not update.

other notes:

- I had to add the table using statistic average, which maybe could be the problem? I'm not sure what else to put it as.

- The country names all match up

PLEASE if anyone has an ideas I will try them! Thank you!

Can you share how you configured the layer actions on your map?  If the country is being selected but the serial chart is not filtering, that suggest something is setup wrong with the layer action configuration.  The other thing, which I know you they match, but would be to double check the your category fields you are basing your filter/layer actions on match exactly.

I configures the layers by going to the configure option of the map, layer actions, the map feature layer, then filter, and serial chart. I turned the serial chart button on and put source field as country name from the map and target field as county from the sheet
