ArcGIS.com - received invitation, but can't view it?

I have a notice that I have been invited to join a group.  The instructions say to go to the groups tab and view my invitations.  I can't see any invitations in my groups tab.  I attached a screen capture.  Can somebody thunk me with a rock so I can see where to look?

Our database shows you currently have no open invitations to join a group. This is why you don't see any invitation button on the Groups tab. If you were invited to a group, maybe there's some other issue that the invitation didn't actually get delivered to your account.

If you were requesting membership to a group, you would not see the invitation button, nor would you be in the group until the administrator of the group approved your membership. After their approval, the group would simply show up on the Groups tab.

Jacob, your user profile is currently set to private. This means your name is not searchable within ArcGIS.com. Thus, another user who may have wanted to invite you to join their group would not have been able to find you in the system, so I'm not sure how they attempted to invite you. I suppose they could have if you had your profile set to public, then recently changed it to private.

In any event, I'd suggest you ask the group owner of the group you want to join to invite you again. (Jacob, make your profile public first.)

Short answer - this was resolved by turning my profile to public, then requesting a new invitation.

Long answer - I do not believe this was the initial issue.  1) I was in the room when I was first invited to the group, and my profile was able to be located. 2) I had two notifications that I had been invited to the group.  How is that possible if I could not be found because I was set to private. 3) the root issue was never that I was not invited, it was that the 'view invitations' button was not visible where it should have been.

Not upset, but want to be clear, this is a UI issue, not a user issue, that you should investigate further....  All good now, invite accepted.

Thanks Mike for looking into this. I did have notifications before and no button so I agree there are strange things happening with the UI.

Same problem.

Tried every browser available on my machine... no "Invitations" button ever appears.

Are you sure you've been invited? One thing to check is if your profile is public, which allows your username to be found and invited to groups. If it's not, nobody will be able to invite you. Do you have multiple accounts in ArcGIS Online? You may have been invited through a different username. The only other suggestion I have is to ask the person who invited you to invite you again or if the group is public, you can ask to join.
