I am trying to reorder the fields in a table, I can turn off visual and reorder, but if I bounce out and back in, the order does not stay. In field view there is no option? I reordered in pop up and saved but it does not hold when I re-open the table? am I stuck with this order? I don't even think it holds the order when I re-order in PRO

In AGOL, you should be able to go into the Visualization tab of the feature service, open the table, re-order and save.

This seems to change the order in tables when opened in web map.

Hi @ScottJones1

Any changes you make in the table in Map Viewer should persist as well. Just be sure to save the map.

nope, it changes the order while in this tab, but does not hold the change when I open in DATA mode, configure pop up doesn't work either. Maybe because it is coming from a Survery123 Connect? the data entry order is different than the final view order it is going into...

Making the changes in MapViewer will only change it for that map.

If you want it to change 'permanently' (which can be overridden within a web map), you need to change/save it in the visualization tab.  This will re-order them in the DATA mode as well.  At least if you are referring to the Data tab in the item details.

Testing was done with layer made for 123 Connect, created from existing features service if that helps.

I am not seeing where I can modify the table in visualization, only configure pop up?

My Testing:

In the Data tab of item details, this example has NormallyOpen as the first field:

If we open that in New mapviewer and open the table for the System Valve layer we see that is the case:

In Visualization tab of Item details, select Layers, then open the table of the FC you want to re-order, re-order them and be sure to click Save in upper left (I moved motorized to be the first field):

Now if we look at the Data Tab, you will see the new order of fields:

And if we add the data to a new MapViewer and open the table, you will see the new order:

I am still missing a step? i do not see ITEM DETALS from anywhere, and when I open the Visualization there is no option to see the TABLE, I can only configure the POP UP. The reason I want to reorder the fields, is that I will most likely be exporting the table into an excel and then plugging into an established excel.. I just dont want to have to move everything around each time I do this... if I dont figure it out, I can just dump into access and have access reconfigure on my outputs...

To set it at the data source level, you will need to open your contents page and navigate to the folder where the FERM engagement v1 251002 hosted feature service is located, click on the three dots to the right, and select View details.

In there you will see the Visualization and Data tabs in the upper right.
