AGO Labels not appearing?

I have a points layer (hosted feature service in my AGO account).

These have a Level field, that I would like to label upon.

The Label field is a double, and has values for all features.

If you refer to the animated GIF below, I believe I am following the required steps to setup labels.

When saving the layer/webmap, the layer fails to render on this field.

Same applies if I try to label on other fields or even a fixed string.

Can someone point out where I am going wrong?

Delete the 9 records (OID 358-366) that have a null value for X and Y and you've got your labels back.
