I am trying to create a simple ArcGIS Online map.  I would like to add a jpeg I have stored on my harddrive to the map.  I have created an editable layer and am able to draw the basic shapes.  Is it possible to do something like get the jpeg from my computer into a drawn rectangle on the map?  If so great.  Could you let me know how?

Thanks,
Derek

Currently, the only items you can add to a web map from your computer are delimited text files (.csv and .txt), zipped shapefiles (.zip), and GPS files (.gpx).  Take a look at this resource here for more information.

The closed thing to what you want might be this?

http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2012/07/03/add-flickr-photos-to-arcgis-online-web-maps/

The user would have to click on the point tho to show the picture.

Maybe you can use the embed option to embed the map in your own web page, then draw the image over it?? I'm not a programmer, so I'm not sure if this is possible.
