I've seen some workarounds using copies of layers symbolized differently, but it'd be really useful and more efficient if ArcGIS Online could render symbology on feature layers published through Pro/Enterprise that use alternative symbols/scales.
I included a screenshot below, the specific use case being to show polygons as points/centroids when zoomed out and then switching to showing them as polygons when zoomed in. This is useful when there are polygons of many sizes (example Homeowners Associations) and the smaller polygons will be harder to see at small scales.
