I just spent 90 minutes on the phone with tech support because I was unable to submit a form through Field Maps due to fields that had been deleted from the AGOL hosted feature service. We discovered that the deleted fields were being held on to in the AGOL db. These are the steps we took to resolve the issue. It's a workaround, and I'd really like to be able to permanently delete fields without this sort of thing happening.
We discussed that we are unable to fill out the field maps form. And, it fails with the Error message "Unable to Submit. 1 or more attributes failed."
We also tried to fill the value in the attribute table of the webmap, however, that also failed with the same error message.
However, we noticed that the fields that are failing are the ones that have been recently deleted.
We republished our data from ArcGIS Pro To ArcGIS Online, however, that also didn't resolve the query.
We decided to add the deleted fields with the same names.
And, then we hide those fields from visibility.
It helped in resolving the query and the forms are being submitted successfully now.
