Improve the user interface when creating or updating Hosted Feature Layer Views. Currently it is very clunky, slow and unforgiving. Suggestions:

  • The filter only shows 1-2 expressions at a time while the map takes up 80% of the layout. Try to use a set or have several expressions and it becomes difficult to navigate/review the expressions.
  • To create a new condition within a set, you have to scroll to the top of the set then click the 'options', then scroll back down. Why isn't the new condition at the bottom... where you would be adding the conditions to the set
  • Give the ability to turn the map off or the layer within the map off (to prevent querying large layers)
  • Generating a histogram = slow and annoying when the feature layer is large
  • The Update View window glitches out a lot of the time. Expressions fail to load or the screen is blank under choose layers. This may be a browser/service issue but I just want to add a filter to a layer, not invoke something so resource intensive it's failing.
  • Condition sets are all white and not numbered. Add Set (1), Set (2), maybe some color delineation to group conditional statements? Helps with scrolling up and down and validating the statement
  • Have the field name AND the alias in the field selection. Yes we can change what is displayed, but you have to do this from the default view each time you choose a field.
  • Add a confirmation button to the remove filter button. Updating a complex filter and hit this button? Have to refresh the page and start again.
  • Add a manual input mode with validation checks
