Currently, with the AGOL Elevation Profile Widget, it is possible to select a SINGLE line segment from which to derive an elevation profile; however, in the more common scenario where a trip would involve travel on multiple roads or trails (think joggers, hikers), the default behavior should be as with Arc, where shift or ctl could allow multiple line segment selection from which the profile is generated.
