Although the new filter template in ArcGIS Online is very useful, the functionality to filter using drop-down menus would be more advantageous. The end-user could then filter the map based on the attributes contained. This would allow for the map to be filtered much more quickly and any risk of problems caused by typing errors would be eliminated.
