ArcGIS Online fields properties configuration option to use thousand separator is very good, but it should be option to choose separator character. Now it depends on USER locale or browser regional settings. In thematic areas such as financal storymaps it's crucial to use correct separator, especially non-USA users.
Need to choose which character (comma, space, etc.) will be used as separator.
