The ArcGIS Advanced Editing User Type Extension needs to be added to ArcGIS Online. We currently have a branched version dataset that we added to ArcGIS Online. However, with the user type changes this will no longer be available. The initial article, Introducing the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension, mentioned that it would be. However, after talking to multiple sources this option will only be available through the ArcGIS Utility Network or Parcel Fabric.

There needs to be an option for just a basic ArcGIS Advanced Editing User Type Extension in ArcGIS Online so that we can edit branch version data from Survey123.

Hi Jenna,

I'm confused on what you are trying to accomplish.  The Advanced Editing UTE is necessary for editing utility network, trace network, and parcel fabric data, but it is also necessary for working with branch versioned data, geodatabase topologies, and a couple of other things.

I'm assuming you have an Enterprise based feature service with branch versioned data that you've shared to Online?  What application are you trying to use in Online to edit the data?  For branch versioning the Advanced Editing UTE needs to be assigned to the named user accessing the Enterprise feature service.  Having the UTE available in Online would not help you in that scenario.

Also not clear on what license changes you are referring to that impact this.

Thanks, larry

We are currently working with Server 10.9.1 and it works perfectly. This problem is that the Enterprise feature service is shared publicly. When you bring it into ArcGIS Online it does not ask for credentials and is not aware of who the named user from the enterprise is. That is why the Advanced Editing UTE should be an option in ArcGIS Online and not just Enterprise.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Jenna

Hi Jenna,

The check for the Advanced Editing UTE was added with Enterprise 11.3 and is on the ApplyEdits call with the Feature Service, meaning it is an Enterprise side check.  Having the UTE with Online would not help.

Do you need to use branch versioning?  Are the edits from Survey 123 going directly into Default?
