Allow to filter a WFS by attributes in ArcGIS Online

At the moment, you cannot create filters on a WFS in the Map Viewer in ArcGIS Online, only on hosted feature layers, hosted feature layer views, and GIS Server feature service layers. It would be very useful to extend this functionality to WFS.

The proposed support for WFS filter is something which I am in desperate need of. It is a bit awkward that a client can write a filter either in Geoservers CQL or with OGC Comparison Operators and we are not able to do similar in a AGOL nor Portal webmap.

Does anyone know if this has been addressed by ESRI yet? It is a massive issue as datasets increase in size. WFS is still the international open source standard for disseminating GIS data (though I know OGC REST API is just around the corner) - so, I'd hope ESRI could enable this functionality somehow.
