Summary: Improve the ArcGIS Online map styling experience by including the cviridis color palette and other perceptually uniform, colorblind-friendly scientific color ramps like plasma, magma, and inferno. These palettes are widely used in data science and scientific visualization because they preserve data integrity across different vision types and display conditions.

Use Case: Current AGOL color ramps are visually appealing but not always optimized for data clarity or accessibility. Scientific colormaps like cviridis are ideal for continuous data such as temperature, pollution, elevation, or density maps. These palettes are colorblind safe, perceptually uniform, and remain interpretable when printed in grayscale.

Implementation:

  • Add cviridis and similar ramps as preset options in the color ramp selector within the Counts and Amounts (Color) and other renderers.

  • Tag these ramps as "accessible" or "scientific" to guide users toward best practices.

  • Optionally support import of custom style files (.stylx) with scientific colormaps from ArcGIS Pro.

This enhancement would provide users with more scientifically reliable and accessible visualizations without requiring manual hex input or external tools.
