Hallo,

I am calculating the shortest routes for pairs of points (see also http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/30795-calculating-driving-distances). My dataset consist of 15000 origins and 15000 locations.

Before running the analysis with the entire dataset I am testing it with a small subsample (20 locations). Everything works fine BUT reading in the data as stops takes tremendously long; several minutes for the sample.  I am using win7, 12GB Ram, i5 vPro processor, and ArcGIS 10.1.

Is there a way to accelerate the process? Tips are highly appreciated.

Best,
Mirk

If loading your stops is taking a long time then perhaps you are missing some spatial index on the street data being used in the network. If the time is spent some where else, then please specify what step is taking long to complete.

BTW, you can use the GP tool Calculate Locations to pre-compute the network locations and then use Add Locations to load the Stops (using the Network Locations and not geometry) if you plan to reuse the points over and over again AND the network dataset is not being re-built during that process.
