Three of my four label classes don't show when I export my map to an AIX file. The label classes for State Highway, Major Road, and Minor Road are grouped into a layer called Layer 1. The text from those three label classes is also split up by individual character, making it difficult to work with. The Private Roads class is the only label class put into the Labels sub-layer (some, not all, of the labels are split by character). I've attached my AIX file within a zip folder.
Hi @AppaMudSquid,
Thank you for sharing your AIX file and details of what you're seeing. The team is taking a deeper look into this issue. In the meantime, is it possible for you to share more information on your specific labeling workflow in Pro? Any specific steps you took to create the label classes will be very helpful. Additionally, can you share the versions of ArcGIS Pro and Maps for Adobe that you are currently running?
Thanks!
I'm using ArcGIS Pro 3.5.2 and the Maplex Label Engine. The map document I'm working with was previously used (not sure the version at the time) to create AIX files with no label issues. I've tried switching out the road/centerline with a different FC, but the issue persists.
@AppaMudSquid Thanks for all the details- after looking into this specific case it does appear to be an issue related to label classes. We are looking into a fix for this specific issue, but in the meantime we have two possible workarounds for you:
Workaround 1: Create individual layers for each class, and label each layer individually- using this workflow, we are not seeing the split text issue you mentioned.
Workaround 2: Take curves off of your label classes. Instead, try labeling using horizontal text placement.
Your text strings will remain intact in Illustrator, and you can position and and curve your text as needed using Illustrator's editing tools.
Hopefully one of these options works for now, if not we can absolutely look into other workflows.
