I added the SSURGO Soil feature service from the Living Atlas and I want to apply a definition query to service, but this does not appear to be available as per below screenshot.

https://landscape11.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/USA_Soils_Map_Units/featureserver

I only see General and Metadata whereas I should have access to many more properties including definition query

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Click on the arrow to the left of the layer (to expand it). You will see another layer (USA Soil Map Units). Check its properties.

Another alternative is to add the layer ID in the URL as well. like https://landscape11.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/USA_Soils_Map_Units/featureserver/0

Thanks for the info on expanding the service.  I am very much used to feature classes where you do not have that extra layer which has a duplicate name.

After expanding the arrow I was able to get to the Definition Query property, but it keeps erroring out with a simple query of areasymbol = 'TN043'

Does this feature service have too much data to deal with when trying to set the definition query?

Looks too large (and complex) to retrieve the data (even the count) before timeout. The timeout period is also less.
