Hello,

Normally imagery is made avalible to view though Living Atlas within a few hours of data capture.

I am struggling to see Sentinel-1 imagery now from the last week or so through ESRI's Living Atlas. Any idea what might cause this? You can view the imgaery that I would expect to be able to see on other platfroms (e.g. EO Browser, but not through Living Atlas)

An example...

EO Browser (Date = 1st January 2025)

https://apps.sentinel-hub.com/eo-browser/?zoom=13&lat=53.39229&lng=-2.40171&themeId=DEFAULT-THEME&vi...

Try putting the same date into the filter in Living Atlas and it comes up blank. This seems to be happening more and more recently but only for the odd day (which is really very inconvenient!), but this now seems to be multiple days worth of imagery now missing and not just in teh area I am inetrested in.

If anyone could shed any light on this it would be much appreciated as we rely on this imagery for a whole host of business activities...

Many thanks

Cris

Hi Cris,

The Sentinel-1 RTC imagery layer offered in Living Atlas is sourced from the Microsoft Planetary Computer Sentinel-1 RTC data repository. Unfortunately, there has been no new content added to that repository since December 31, 2024 and this why you are not seeing new imagery.

Sorry for the trouble this is causing. We do not have a firm timeline for resolution, but Microsoft is aware of the issue and actively working to resolve it. Once data is flowing into their repository again, our automated daily update pipeline will pick it up and add it to the Living Atlas service/layer.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Best,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Do you know if there is a problem with recent Sentinel-2 Level 2 imagery from MPC at the moment. there doesn't seem to be any from the last 2 months.

Many thanks

Hi Rob,

Thanks very much for your reply. Much appreciated. Do you know if it will just silently be turned back on or will it be possible to be notified?

Kind regards

Crispin
