I know this on the todo list...but couldn't find a scheduled release number for it.
Is there an ETA or has it been assigned to a future release yet?

Version 4.4 is currently planned for July 2017. Not sure if it will include the support for OGC layers.
What is the planned release schedule for future 4.x releases?
