Why use JQuery with ESRI JSAPI?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone would recommend using JQuery with the ESRI JSAPI compact build and why?

Areas we're interested in are RAD, Performance, Legacy browser compatibility, HTML5 support. The solution will be a GIS enabled, largely data entry based forms solution.

I've seen the examples but they don't make much mention as to the benefits \ disadvantages of such an approach. Any insight would be much appreciated 🙂

Existing applications already built with JQuery is one possible scenario.

I only use jQuery for DOM tasks, such as an Accordian or any small animations. I have had browser/performance issues using dojo dijits such as Accordian/Validator with Internet Explorer (default in office is IE8).
