Hi,

I've tried to setup the ArcGIS Javascript API on our server and I can't make it work.  I have followed all the steps described on the install.html page, changed the paths in all the files, fixed the IIS to add the Default.ashx page, but whenever I try to test my install with a basic code, there is never a map showing up.  I only have a large white rectangle displayed on the page.  I tried to used two different map services : one from arcgis.com and a local one, without success.

I was wondering if someone had experience the same type of issue when installing the API.  I used the 2.6 files.

Any tips on points to look for?

Thanks a lot!!!

Are you trying to run a .jsp page from IIS?

According to the install guide, I added the Default.aspx page in the IIS Manager.  I also added the index.php and index.jsp pages, eventhough it was not mentionned in the installation guide, when jeff.pade first mentionned it.

Can you open a ticket with support? Because this probably boils down to server configuration, and the number of moving parts involved, they're probably going to get a solution for you faster than we can.

Hi LucieBoucher,

I am also trying to install JavaScript API locally, it is working from a url for example http://localhost/arcgis_js_api/library/2.7/jsapi/, but when I put it inside a webpage that will display the map, it is not working properly, it is through a javascript error:- Microsoft JScript runtime error: '3' is null or not an object, Please help if you know the solution?

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for you.  I was able to use the API with the online version, but I never managed to find how to correct my bug for the local version.  Since I only needed the API for a quick test about online editing, I did not search further to fix the problem.  As Derek Swingley suggested, opening a ticket with the support might be the best way for you to get the answer you are looking for.

Sorry for not being able to help much...

Hi LucieBoucher,

Thanks for replying, can you tell me how to raise the ticket? I am in India and I am not a direct customer of ESRI.
