Search Component keeping Previously Selected Suggestions Selected

I have started upgrading an app to 5.1. When a new suggestion is selected, the previously selected suggestions are remaining selected. The first screenshot is from the map on documentation home page, I typed New York in the search component, then selected the top 4 and they all remain selected.
The autocomplete component in the Calcite Design System states that it should only be used when wanting to select a single item. I tested the autocomplete component and was able to replicate the same behavior outside of the search component.
