Receiving an error code 429 when making multiple requests to a GIS service

Hi,
We have a map service where a route is generated when adding a point. When we add approximately 5 points an error occurs and the route is not generated.
It seems as if there is some sort of throttling occurring but we are not sure how to remove the throttle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
