when i print with a layer added to the ESRI javascript API from AGS Online or a dynamic map service, whether i'm using the standard PrintTask or a geoprocessing task added to arcgis server, the legend symbol is not right for the AGS Online feature layer nor the dynamic map service.
note: if running the geoprocessing task through arcdesktop the legend symbology is correct.

left hand side is generated by: publishing a print geoprocessing task through AGS and consumed using the javascript API PrintTask: http://[AGS 10.1 server]/arcgis/rest/services/[map service]/GPServer/[print GP item]
right hand side is generated by: using the 10.1 print tools: http://[AGS 10.1 server]/arcgis/rest/services/Utilities/PrintingTools/GPServer/Export%20Web%20Map%20Task
using the javascript api the map is setup with the following layers:
open street map base map
dynamic map service with 3 layers - do not render properly in legend
AGS online feature layer - does not render properly in legend
feature layer based on layer in dynamic map service in 2 - renders properly in legend
