Label text in [fType] or [fName] but not both fields

I am not a programmer and find Esri VB script challenging. What i want is to label a feature if it has a name from the [fName] Field, and if that field is empty then use the [fType] field.

Also sometimes the [fName] field has a ""."' which i want to ignore as well.

Could someone help me out with code or explain simply how i could work it out.
