Are we going to have 3D map implementation in JavaScript API v2.0? As ESRI told that they are going to have 3D maps in ArcGIS 10, it would be great to see 3D map implementation in Javascript API
i don't know that a 3D globe api exists that runs completely in javascript. if they did implement one, it would probably somehow linked to ArcGIS Explorer Online which is in Silverlight right now.
I could see 2.5D coming via the HTML5 Canvas; but true 3D using WebGL or X3D seems to be a long ways off. Still I think it can work with 2.5D. Check out the torus game at benjoffe.com and his other work there (including a globe).
