When vision impaired users are analyzing a popup, it is unclear what the purpose of the menu is. If the screen reader is able to identify the current feature and read out the number of other available features the users will be able to understand the purpose of the menu and be more likely to use it.

In our example, the SDK is used during a location identification step. The user enters their address and interacts with the presented location panel that shows the potential of multiple options (1 of 2). This menu item is announced only as "menu" to a screen reader but visually states 1 of 2. The menu provides insufficient information in identifying what its purpose or action is.

This limit makes our application non WCAG compliant.

Hi @AlisonGaiser1 -

Thanks for submitting this idea. Which version of the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript are you using?

With the most current version (4.32), the feature menu button announces "Select feature toggle button, select feature group" with Apple's VoiceOver utility so it has been updated from what you're describing.

Does this help at all with the WCAG compliance?

Thanks!
