Version 5.1 of ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript has arrived! Enjoy new features in performance, visualization, editing, 3D, and beyond – all without breaking changes. Here are the highlights for this release:
Spatially Optimized Parquet (beta) enables visualizing billions of features using spatially optimized formats, supporting scalable big data workflows in ArcGIS Online.
Advanced Pro symbology features are coming to web: use alternate symbols for scale-based rendering to preserve the detail at smaller scales while avoid clutter when zoomed out; also control symbol drawing order with symbol layer drawing options.
Animate markers along a line with the new CIM symbol animation type (beta) to create dynamic and engaging visualizations.
Editing enhancements include attachment elements and multiple choice inputs in Editor, segment length while drawing in 2D, and a new tangent curve tool in Editor and Sketch components.
3D analysis is support for gaussian splat layers, such as shadow analysis and slice, achieving interactive visual inspection and analysis workflows for gaussian splat content in complex 3D scenes.
So much more in 5.1: fetching features by screen rectangle, m- and z-values support, new and improved components, querying associated models from 3D object layer, and more.
