Using excel spreadsheet to allocate to polygons

Hi I have created a web map app with features of an outdoor event with camping pitches, the show organisers have an excel spreadsheet with everyone who is camping my idea was for for them to enter details of camper in the pitch they think is appropriate. 

Is there a way to link my camping pitch polygon file to the excel spreadsheet to auto fill information, link field would be pitch number or could be name, so if they edit a pitch adding name or a unique ref number the rest of fields would be filled with information in spreadsheet?

At my other work there is a similar app that has list of asset features from database in dummy large point files which are located to exact location with id number linking to database.
