I would like to see additional configuration options for the results panel displayed in the ArcGIS Instant Apps Nearby app.

Currently, results within the specified search radius are sorted by distance. It would be helpful to have the option to sort results using a selected field from the layer instead. For example, an app creator could sort results by a date, priority, status, name, or another relevant field in either ascending or descending order.

Ideally, this could include:

  • A Sort results by setting where the app creator can select a field from the layer.
  • An option to choose ascending or descending order.
  • The ability to retain distance as the default sorting method when no custom field is selected.

This option would make the Nearby app useful for workflows where proximity defines which records should be included, but distance is not necessarily the most important way to prioritize those results. I would also be content with this configuration being hosted on the user side, as a "sort" option living next to the filter option.

Use case: I use the Nearby app to help reschedule appointments. Once appointments within a selected radius are identified, it is more important for me to see which appointment is scheduled soonest than to see which location is immediately closest.
