Hello,

How do I create a new plan for the Indoor Space Planner web app?

I have created a web map by sharing my Indoors file to Online. Then, I created a web app, specifically, the Indoor Space Planner app. However, when I enter the app, I am shown an error and redirected to another screen that tells me I need to create a new map. The button to create a new plan is grayed out here.

I have a publisher role and know this is not the issue. I also have created an Indoors schema through the "Create Indoors Database" tool and successfully added all of my CAD data in Pro.

Thank you

Hi @JaceBrown, based on the error message you provided it looks like you are missing some required layers in your map, as well as some required configurations on the web feature layer.

You can take a look at the required layers and authoring a map for Space Planner here. Specifically, you'll need the Occupants, Units, Levels, and Facilities layers and Areas table in a floor-aware map.

You'll also need to allow the following on your web feature layer that contains Occupants, Units, and Areas:

  • Enable editing and allow editors to add, update, and delete features
  • Export Data
  • Preserve editor tracking info
  • Keep track of created and updated features
  • Keep track of who created and last updated features

Here's some documentation on the sharing workflow and getting all these options configured.

Hey Sophie,

Thank you for your help again. I was able to fix the Online settings through changing the settings of my map's hosted feature layer. I believe the issue I had with my Indoors document in Pro, was not including the Areas table into my map.

Merry Christmas,

Jace
