Provide a way to capture and report metrics that allow administrators to better understand how users are using the application, particularly the mobile application. As much of the data in the mobile application may be packaged for offline use, you cannot measure service usage to try and understand how users are using the application. Even with web-based apps, monitoring service usage only gives you a high-level understanding, and can be difficult to isolate service requests coming from a specific application (web/mobile) and map.
Insight into the following would help administrators understand where to focus future efforts:
- How often are users browsing categories?
- Which categories are they using the most?
- How often are they using directions from a category item?
- How often are users searching?
- What layers/categories are they searching?
- How many times is a typical user opening the app per day?
- How often are users using launch actions?
- Which launch actions are used the most?
